Three region matches remain for GHS soccer

Gilmer High School got a break from its region schedule last Wednesday when it hosted Union County on senior night. The GHS Lady Cats surrendered a late goal to end the first half, and the Panthers added another in the second for a 2-0 win.

Clear Creek Soccer Roundup

Clear Creek Middle School soccer took the field last week versus Lumpkin County. The CCMS Lady Cats got a rare 0-0 tie versus the undefeated Indians while the Bobcats’ match ended knotted at 1-1.

Defending champ Trojans sweep Cats

The Gilmer High Bobcats were tested right out of the gate to start their region baseball slate. GHS faced North Hall for a three-game series last week, and the defending state champion Trojans earned a sweep.

Lady Cats get 1st region win

Gilmer High School soccer was in West Hall last Friday for region matches. The girls teams played first, and the GHS Lady Cats were continually on the attack and came away with their first region win, 3-2.

GHS Cats take down Spartans

Gilmer High tennis hit the road last Wednesday and was back at home the following day as it continued its region schedule. The GHS Bobcats and Lady Cats faced the East Forsyth Broncos first and lost by respective scores of 4-1 and 3-2.

Gilmer High School hits the track in Canton

It was a crowded field in Canton last Friday at the Creekview Invitational. The Gilmer High Bobcats and Lady Cats were one of 14 track teams in attendance and most hailed from larger classifications.

Gilmer High School baseball wins 2 more

Gilmer High School baseball wrapped up its nonregion schedule last week. Following their 11-1 win versus Southeast Whitfield Monday, the GHS Bobcats defeated Union County the following night at home, 5-4.

Gilmer Bobcat soccer 2-0 versus region foes

Gilmer High soccer opened region play with a home victory. The Bobcats hosted the White County Warriors last Tuesday, and after a slow start, Gilmer’s offense came alive for a 5-0 runaway victory. GHS ended the week Friday at home versus Cherokee Bluff.

GHS tennis aces Fannin

The Gilmer High Bobcats and Lady Cats hit the tennis court for four matches last week. GHS hosted Fannin Monday, and the Lady Cats won 4-1. Gilmer traveled to Cherokee Bluff Tuesday and lost 5-0 to the Bears before a 3-2 defeat the next day at Pickens.

GHS Lady Cats soccer falls to Warriors, Bears

Gilmer High met two of the region’s top soccer teams when it faced the White County Warriors and Cherokee Bluff Bears. The GHS Lady Cats were at home for both matches last week. First up was White County Tuesday, and the Warriors came away with a 5-0 win.
