Few golf courses in Georgia offer the gorgeous sprawling views on display at Whitepath. The 18-hole course is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and has been a golfing destination for 34 years.

Amicalola Falls — State park is home to Georgia’s tallest cascade

While traversing the mountains of north Georgia in April 1832, William Williamson, a subcommander of the Georgia Guard, came across a sight that stopped him in his tracks. It was, in his words, “a Water Fall perhaps the greatest in the World.”  In a letter penned to Gov.
Through involvement with Trail Life USA, the young men pictured above are experiencing adventure, growing their faith and learning from mentors. During the school year, the group meets the first and third Sunday of the month at the First Baptist Church of Ellijay Student Center. In addition to nurturing a strong foundation of faith, the program equips boys with  skills related to leadership, character and the outdoors.

“Walk Worthy”

For Gus Moore, it is difficult to pick just one thing that he enjoys the most about his involvement in Trail Life USA, a faith-based program that invites boys to ignite a thirst for discovery and high adventure. Indeed, once he started naming things, it was difficult to stop.

Three farms to visit this spring and summer

The rolling hills of north Georgia are dotted with local farms to explore, all while breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the great outdoors.  Ellijay is known as the “Apple Capital of Georgia.

How Carters Lake got its name

When Wayne Anderson was helping build Carters Dam fresh out of high school in 1965, he quickly found out that his youth made him the beneficiary of many practical jokes.

As spring emerges so do hungry bears!

The vernal equinox, also known as spring, begins March 20, 2025, in the Northern Hemisphere. The ambient temperature begins to rise, wildlife becomes more active, the landscape gets greener and the farmers are planting their early crops.
