GHS soccer secures state playoff spot

The Gilmer High Bobcats went on a scoring spree last week and still had goals to spare. GHS hosted a pair of region soccer foes and snatched two more wins. The Bobcats met Dawson County Wednesday and sent the Tigers home with a sound 6-2 loss.

Bobcat baseball breaks out the brooms vs. Spartans

The Gilmer Bobcats secured three much-needed region baseball wins last week. GHS faced the West Hall Spartans for the weekly series, and Thursday’s home game was sandwiched between a pair of road trips Monday and Friday. Gilmer had to rally for the first two wins.

Bobcats tennis sweeps Dragons

Gilmer High School tennis closed out the regular season last week. The GHS Bobcats and Lady Cats were in North Hall Tuesday for their region finale and both lost, 5-0. Gilmer hosted archrival Pickens two days later for senior night.

North Hall rallies to defeat Gilmer Lady Cats, 2-1

The Gilmer High Lady Cats were at home for both of their region soccer matches last week. The Dawson County Tigers were in town Wednesday, and they held on to a 1-0 edge for the win. GHS welcomed North Hall Friday and maintained the lead for 20 minutes in the second half.
Dani Wright is joined by husband David following last Thursday’s board of education meeting. Dani is the new head coach of the Gilmer High Lady Cats basketball program, and David will be a basketball and football assistant coach at GHS.

Dani Wright has reveled in success during every stage of her basketball journey. Wright, 38, was named head basketball coach of the Gilmer High School Lady Cats last Thursday.

GHS Tennis tangles with Warriors, Indians

Gilmer High School tennis met two more region opponents last week. The GHS Bobcats and Lady Cats made the trek to White County Tuesday and both were defeated, 3-2. Gilmer ended the week Thursday at home versus the Lumpkin County Indians.

Bobcat baseball looking for wins versus Spartans

Gilmer High and East Forsyth squared off on the baseball diamond last week. After the GHS Bobcats lost game one 4-3 Monday, they were on the road Wednesday and fell to the Broncos a second time, 11-5. With inclement weather in the forecast, game three was postponed from Friday to Saturday.

Gilmer High School soccer focused on playoff berth

The Gilmer Bobcats were at home for a nonregion soccer match before hitting the road to continue their region slate. First up were the Union County Panthers Wednesday. GHS celebrated its senior players as all got on the field, and by game’s end, the score was even for a 0-0 draw.
