Clear Creek was in Lilburn for the Georgia Middle School State Championships to wrap up the track and field season.
The event was held April 15 at Parkview High School, and all teams competed in the same division. While CCMS did not score any points at the meet, 11 combined Bobcats and Lady Cats competed.
Three CCMS finishes landed inside the top 20. Bobcat Cheyne Smith cleared 8’ 8” in the pole vault for 10th, and Dylan Pospisil (triple jump, 34’ 10 3/4”) and Bo Cronic (pole vault, 7’ 8’) were 15th. Lady Cat Lilyan Cook placed 11th in the discus (73’ 5”).
Also competing for the Lady Cats were Abbie Elliott, triple jump (23rd, 28’ 4 1/2”); Jayla Walker, 3,200 meters (33rd, 13:51.77) and Kaitlyn Howard, 100 meters (87th, 15.35).
Dawson Richard competed in the discus (25th, 96’ 2”), 1,600 meters (71st, 5:31.74) and 3,200 meters (38th, 11:52.48). Cronic was 28th in both the 100- (17.36) and 300-meter hurdles (48.78).
Pospisil finished 34th in the 100 hurdles (18.00) and 42nd in the 300 hurdle (50.98) event. Clear Creek’s Hunter Britain placed 36th in the 100 meters (12.55) and 46th in the 200 (25.75).
Bobcats Leeland Dantin claimed 49th in the 400 meters (59.77), and Harper Davenport took 65th in the 100 meters. The 4x100 team was 35th in 50.27.
