Carolyn Leila West Billue

Carolyn Leila West Billue, 92, of Atlanta, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020.  She was born in East Ellijay, March 3, 1928, to the late Newman and Flora Watkins West, the second of eight children. She was a 1944 graduate of Ellijay High School and attended Marsh Draughn Business College in Atlanta.

Mrs. Laura M. (Waddell) Pettit, 95, of Ellijay, died Saturday, June 27, 2020. She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Gilmer County to the late Jonathan Clay and Annie Pearl (Morris) Waddell.

Ms. Judith A. Adkins

Ms. Judith A. Adkins, 77, of Ellijay, died Saturday, June 20, 2020, at home with her family. She was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Jackson, Miss., to the late Samuel and Elizabeth Wood Chaffin.

Mr. David M. Harris,  70, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020. He was born Dec. 26, 1949, in San Diego, Calif., and was raised in St. Simon’s Island by his late father Myd Harris.

Mr. Thomas McKinney, 65, of Ellijay, died Thursday, June 25, 2020. He was born July 19, 1954, in Atlanta, to the late Loyd Ray and Myrtle Bush McKinney. He worked in the HVAC industry.

Mrs. Bonnie Lee Abercrombie

Mrs. Bonnie Lee Abercrombie, 65, of Ellijay, died Friday, June 26, 2020. She was born June 11, 1955, in Pinehurst, N.C. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She is preceded in death by parents and brother, Donnie Hilliard.

Walter David Johnson, aka Dave Johnson, 81, died Feb. 14, 2020, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.  He was born Sept. 26, 1938, in Boston, Mass., to William Johnson and Emily Richardson Johnson.

Ms. Shadia Carter Fendley, 77, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020. She was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Gilmer County, to the late Paul and Rebecca Dunn Carter.  She worked in the textile industry for Candlewick Yarns and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Tracy Posey, 51, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020. He was born Oct. 17, 1968, in Gilmer County to Debra Dupree Posey and the late Dewey Posey.  He was of the Baptist faith and worked for Shaw Industries for 30 years.
