Mrs. Malvalene “Mab” (Foster) Simmons, 91, of Talking Rock, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Assured Hospice in Cartersville. She was born April 13, 1929, to the late Mark Ed and Victoria Eria (Silvers) Foster, in Ellijay.

James ‘Jim’ C. Gibson Sr.

Mr. James “Jim” C. Gibson Sr. (G-Pa), 73, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born March 26, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Clifford and Leona Bell Rice Gibson. He was a retired long haul truck driver, attended Harvest Missionary Church and was a New England Patriots fan.

Bobby E. Garland

Mr. Bobby E. Garland,  84, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born July 3, 1935, in Gordon County, to the late Joe L. and Joan Matthews Garland. He was retired from Roadway Express and was a veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.  He is preceded in death by wife, Dorothy Fair Garland.

The Rev. John Lloyd McClure

The Rev. John Lloyd McClure, 87, of Ellijay, died Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Pruitt Health in Blue Ridge. He was born June 29, 1932, in Ellijay, to the late John Arvil and Emily Jane (Fowler) McClure.  He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Gary Cleveland Waddell

Gary Cleveland Waddell, 72, of Roswell, went to be with the Lord June 5, 2020 after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born November 21, 1947, at the O’Daniel Clinic in Ellijay, he was the oldest child of Henry Cleveland Waddell and Ila Teague Waddell.

Crystal Mayfield Gibson

Crystal Mayfield Gibson, 46, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020.  She was born Oct. 16, 1973, in Gainesville, to  Mickey Nathan and Madge Martin Mayfield.  She graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1992, was of the Baptist faith and an employee at East Ellijay Walmart.

PRVT Bryson Hunter Gage Bell

Private Bryson Hunter Gage Bell, 19, of Douglasville, died Sunday, March 22, 2020.  He was born Oct. 13, 2000, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Eric Keith Bell and Shelley Anne (Richmond). He was of the Baptist faith and served his country honorably as an active duty infantryman in the U.S. Army.

Mrs. Deborah Gail Deyton Earley

Mrs. Deborah Gail Deyton Earley, 62, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020. She was born July 5, 1957, in Fannin County, to the late Bill Deyton and Rethel Kinser Deyton.  She worked in the textile industry and was a member of River Hill Baptist Church.

James Elbert Wildes

James Elbert Wildes, 82, died Monday, June 1, 2020, at his residence.  He was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Norman Park,  to the late James Raymond Wildes and Alma Ellen Garran Wildes.  He is preceded in death by sister, Faye Wildes Gardner; and brother, Searcy Wildes.
