Gilmer High halfbacks Hunter Watkins (7) and Will Kiker (10) continue to makes defenses pay and have averaged 12.3 and 10.2 yards per carry this season. Both scored two touchdowns versus Lumpkin County last Friday as Watkins rushed for 158 yards and Kiker went for 146.

Clear Creek seventh grader A.J. Callihan makes a tackle, and he intercepted a pass versus Dawson County last Tuesday. Offensively, he accounted for two touchdowns in the Bobcats’ 35-7 victory.

Gilmer High School’s competition cheerleaders were at Dawson County High School last Saturday for their second event of the year, and GHS finished fourth in its division. Head coach Naomi Esparza noted GHS showed overall improvement. She hopes to see continued improvement this Saturday at South Forsyth, specifically when it comes to cheerleaders’ stunts.
