Hamby launches 2 homers vs. LCHS

The Gilmer High Lady Cats got back in the win column with a region softball victory. GHS was at home last Thursday versus Lumpkin County, and Macy Hamby was there for two home runs. Gilmer enjoyed the lead until the Indians’ final at-bat.

Gilmer XC on the Warpath in Canton

Gilmer cross-country runners hit the trail for two more meets. The GHS Bobcats and Lady Cats hosted the North Georgia Championships last Tuesday. The annual 5K took place on the course at Clear Creek Middle School, and the Bobcats placed fourth out of six teams with 124 points.

GHS downs Cass on senior night

The Gilmer High Lady Cats picked up a nonregion volleyball win on senior night. Ahead of last Thursday’s triumph, GHS hit the road Tuesday and traveled to Gwinnett County to meet region foes Wesleyan and Lumpkin County. The host Wolves and Indians both topped the Cats, 2-0.

Clear Creek thumps Towns Co, 32-0

Clear Creek Middle School rolled to another football victory. The CCMS Bobcats were in Towns County last Tuesday, and they used a modified lineup to take on the Indians. Regular starters received the day off, and the Bobcats who took the field led by three scores at the half.

CCMS softball wins two more

Clear Creek softball secured two more lopsided league wins. The Cats were at home for eighth-grade night last Tuesday and celebrated by sending the Tigers back to Dawson County with a 13-0 defeat. CCMS was on the road Friday, and White County suffered a similar fate.

Rec Football Roundup

Gilmer rec football hosted Union County and earned three victories. Games were played at Clear Creek Middle School last Saturday, and the hometown Bobcats posted a 3-2 record. Gilmer’s second and third graders got the day going, and both earned decisive victories over the Panthers.

CCMS hosts XC championships

The Clear Creek Bobcats and Lady Cats both placed third at the North Georgia Cross-Country Championships. CCMS hosted the annual 3.2K event last Monday, and the Bobcats (73 points) were led by Lumpkin County (77) and Fannin County (47).

Ringgold shuts down Bobcats

After rolling to a 3-0 start, the tables were turned on the Gilmer Bobcats. GHS traveled to Ringgold last Friday for its final nonregion football game of the season, and the Tigers were able to stifle the Bobcats’ run-heavy offense.

GHS softball ruins Southeast Raiders

Gilmer High secured a nonregion softball victory for its fifth win of the season. The GHS Lady Cats were on the road last Wednesday at Southeast Whitfield and they crushed the Raiders in six innings, 11-1. Gilmer hosted region foe and archrival Pickens the following day for senior night.

GHS XC runs 7th annual ‘Stampede’

Acworth was Gilmer High cross-country’s target destination for its next invitational. The GHS Bobcats and Lady Cats traveled to Allatoona Creek Park last Saturday for the 7th Annual Big Peach Mustang Stampede.
