Gilmer High made the trip north for its final cross-country tuneup before the region meet.
Four teams gathered at North Murray High School last Wednesday, and the Bobcats finished second behind Fannin County. The host Mountaineers took third over Murray County.
Times were not available, but GHS Bobcat runners and placements included Talyn Mesner (fourth), Michael Little (seventh), Eder Martinez (10th), Larz Fowler (15th) and Christopher Chun-Bell (18th).
The Lady Cats did not have enough runners for a team score. Behind Gilmer’s Amalia Perez (seventh), were Kamryn Baxter (eighth), Carly Becerra (10th) and Jayla Walker (11).
The region meet will be held at Unicoi State Park Oct. 25.
