Gilmer rec football teams returned to the road as they made their way to Lumpkin County.
The Indians hosted Gilmer last Saturday, and the visiting Bobcats found success in the final games of the day. Gilmer’s fifth graders earned a 19-6 win before sixth graders trounced the Indians, 42-6.
Lumpkin got the day going with a 24-0 first-grade win before the Indians were victorious in double overtime in the second-grade contest, 12-6. Lumpkin also won the third-grade (25-0) and fourth-grade (29-12) games.
Gilmer will travel to Chestatee Saturday to meet the War Eagles. Game times include first graders at 9 a.m. followed by second (10:30 a.m.), third (noon), fourth (1:30 p.m.), fifth (3 p.m.) and sixth-grade (4:30 p.m.) kickoffs.
