Local teams were in town for the annual Mountain League Championships. Clear Creek Middle School hosted the meet last Monday and eight teams were in attendance.  For the Lady Cats, Lakelyn Garrett led the way in eighth place (15:52.

Clear Creek seventh graders are 2-0 on the season with their latest victory. The Bobcats hosted Towns County last Wednesday. Possessions were limited with the Bobcats’ time-consuming drives, and TCMS did not do nearly enough with its offense to keep pace with the Cats.

GHS softball heads south for 3 wins

Gilmer High softball had a good weekend on the diamond to earn three nonregion victories. The Lady Cats made the nearly 170-mile trip to Harris County and took on King’s Ridge Christian last Friday.

Frogtown Trail beckons GHS cross-country runners

Another weekend meant another invitational for Gilmer High cross-country runners. The Gilmer High Bobcats and Lady Cats were in Forsyth County for the Rangers XC Invitational at Frogtown Trail. The Lady Cats squared off against 10 other teams and finished fourth with 104 team points.

CCMS softball takes down Rebels, Warriors

Clear Creek softball snagged two more league wins after the Lady Cats’ latest slate of games. Dawson County was in town last Wednesday and the Tigers built a 7-run lead that CCMS erased. DCMS came away with a 15-11 win in extra innings.

CCMS XC continues season in Forsyth

The annual cross-country meet was held last Saturday at Frogtown Trail in Cumming and drew 11 teams.  The Clear Creek Middle School Lady Cats ended their day in sixth place with 221 points, while the Bobcats were ninth on the boys side with 313.

CCMS Bobcats fall to Union Co.

It was the Dragons’ night when they rolled into Ellijay to face the hometown Gilmer Bobcats. The annual football rivalry was renewed last Friday at Huff-Mosley Memorial Stadium, and Pickens struck for quick touchdowns all night.
