Gutillo joins Lions at Emmanuel

GHS baseball stays home for 2025 summer

Gilmer High did not have to go far for its summer baseball regimen. GHS hit the field for four weeks in June as team morale and getting live hitting and batting repetitions took center stage. The Bobcats were on the field for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for 12 total practices.

Hice turns in letter of resignation

Jordan Hice is the Gilmer High Bobcats all-time basketball wins leader, and he is no longer the head coach of the program. Hice turned in his letter of resignation last Wednesday, and cited spending more time with his young family as the reason.

Lady Cat swimmers take second

Gilmer swimmers attended the Cherokee County Champs Meet for the penultimate event of the regular season. The three-team event was held last Thursday at the Cherokee Aquatic Center, and the Gilmer Swim Team placed second on the girls side and third in the boys standings.

Curtis heads north to Young Harris

Talyn Curtis will just be right up the road when he takes the soccer field at the collegiate level. Curtis is a 2025 Gilmer High honor graduate and was a four-year starter at goalkeeper during the program’s current pinnacle. He will head up Hwy.
