Elizabeth (Betty) O. Glentworth, of Ellijay, peacefully passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, while visiting her family in Pennsylvania. She was born in Sandy Valley, Sugarloaf Twp., Luzerne, Pa., and resided in Delaware, Canada, Naples, Fla., Jasper and Ellijay.

Roger Allen Haas, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2021, in Asheville, N.C. Born in Chicago, Ill., in 1936, he served 34 years as a captain for Delta Airlines based out of Atlanta.

Mr. Jack Glen Williford, Jr., 64, of Phenix City, Ala., formerly of Ellijay, and Albany, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus, in Columbus, after a hard-fought battle with COVID-19.

Ms. Ruby Lee Rackley Black Owens

Ms. Ruby Lee Rackley Black Owens, 82, of Chatsworth, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, at her home. Momma, (Mamaw Ruby, Miss Ruby, Ruby Lee, the little lady with a hat), grew up at Ridgeway Boat Ramp, where dirt meets the pavement.

Mr. Jerry Moss, 76, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. He was born in Gilmer County Feb. 15, 1945, to the late M.T Moss and Willa Mae Parks Moss.

Andrea Anne (Jasse) Blanchard-Vera, 77, of Ellijay died Tuesday, July 27, 2021. She was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Everett, Mass., to the late Robert Louis and Marian Louise King Jasse. She was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay.

Charles Nesbert Godwin

Charles Nesbert Godwin, 79, of Ellijay, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021. He was born Dec. 4, 1941, to the late Jerry Mose and Dessie Bell Godwin in Tallapoosa. He was married to the late Joan Godwin  Dec. 28, 1965.

Edward Joseph Salettel Jr.

Mr. Edward Joseph Salettel Jr., 74, of Talking Rock, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at Northside Hospital. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Valentine’s Day, 1947, to Ed Sr. and Grace. The family moved to Miami, Fla., when he was a young boy.

Mr. Harrill Douglas Wood, 79, of Talking Rock died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021. He was born in Hayesville, N.C., at the company sawmill to James (Jim) and Hazel Kitchens Wood. The family came to Gilmer County with Genette Lumber Company.
