Elizabeth (Betty) O. Glentworth, of Ellijay, peacefully passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, while visiting her family in Pennsylvania.

She was born in Sandy Valley, Sugarloaf Twp., Luzerne, Pa., and resided in Delaware, Canada, Naples, Fla., Jasper and Ellijay.

She owned and operated Bett’s Salon in Brampton, Canada and Naples, Fla. Moving to Jasper, to be closer to her family, she owned and operated The Stitchery, then moved to Eagle Mountain in Ellijay for 30-plus years.

She retired from Walmart after working there for 23 years.

Her life revolved around family, community and friends.

She is preceded in death by husbands, John J. Halko and Ronald Glentworth;  daughter, Jeanette Wright (Vaughn), parents, sister, brother and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by daughter, Jacklen Powell (Ronald); and son, John J. Halko Jr. (Kay); six grandchildren, Jon Halko (Jennifer), Weston Halko (Stephanie), Michelle Powell-Hart (William), Ronald Powell Jr. (Lisa), Shawn Powell (Kimberly), and Mary (Wright) Stotezner (Robert); and 12 great-grandchildren.
