Mr. Jerry Moss, 76, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Northside Cherokee Hospital.

He was born in Gilmer County Feb. 15, 1945, to the late M.T Moss and Willa Mae Parks Moss.

He was a Gilmer High School graduate, class of 1964, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer for many years.

He is survived by wife of 53 years, Joann Ware Moss; son, Dr. Kelvin Moss (Melissa); daughter, Kristy Parris (James); brother, Charles Moss and his wife, Bonnie; sister, Wanda Jones and her husband, Gene; sister-in-law, Susie Martin (Philip); grandchildren, Kyle and Kessler Parris and Josey and Raven Moss; several nieces and nephews; and  fur buddy, Bandit.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Banks, the Rev. Larry Waddell, the Rev. John Reece, the Rev. David Nicholson and the Rev. Gary Watkins officiating.

Bill McVey was in charge of music.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kyle Parris, Kessler Parris, Phil Martin, Bobby Abercrombie, Ricky Bryan and Ronald Colwell.

Honorary pallbearers were Josey and Raven Moss, Terry Nealey, Wallace Tudor, Bill Mcvey, Jerry Sitton, Charlie Postell and James Paschal.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
