CCMS seventh-grade Lady Cats snatch 2 more wins

The Clear Creek Lady Cats took the court for a pair of league matchups. The seventh-grade Lady Cats won 47-25 over Union County last Monday, and the Lady Panthers downed CCMS eighth graders, 48- 41. Clear Creek was at White County Thursday, and the seventh graders topped the Warriors, 43-19.

7th grade Bobcats take down Warriors

The Clear Creek Bobcats picked up another basketball victory versus league opponents. The CCMS Bobcats were on the road at Union County last Monday, and the Panthers notched respective wins of 49-37 and 71-45 in the seventh- and eighth-grade games.
Bregan Berry earned a much-needed pin for Gilmer High versus Heritage last Saturday, and the win improved the Bobcats’ record to 17-3.

No. 2 ranked GHS Bobcats win tourney, six more duals

Gilmer High wrestlers added six more wins to their seasonal tally. The No. 2 ranked GHS Bobcats hit the road for a pair of away events last week, and they first made their way to Dawson County Tuesday for a tri-match. Gilmer downed the host Tigers (60-18) before topping Habersham Central, 56-21.

Gilmer Bobcats split nonregion matchups

The Gilmer Bobcats continued their nonregion basketball schedule and picked  up another victory. GHS hosted the Murphy, N.C., Bulldogs last Tuesday and had their best shooting night of the season.

Gilmer High swimmers continue to improve times

Gilmer High swimmers were back in Calhoun for their latest weekly meet. GHS squared off against five other teams last Thursday at the Calhoun Aquatic Center, and the event gave swimmers another opportunity to improve times and qualify for state. Evan May The Bobcats finished third with 233.

Gilmer Lady Cats top Murphy in OT

They needed four extra minutes, but it was worth the wait as the Gilmer Lady Cats earned their first basketball win of the season. GHS played host to the Murphy, N.C., Bulldogs last Tuesday for its first of three games.

Clear Creek wrestlers finish 3rd at home tourney

The Clear Creek Bobcats did not have to travel far for its last two wrestling events. CCMS was at home last Tuesday for a tri-match against the Dawson County Tigers and Lumpkin County Indians.

GHS Bobcats win 3rd straight tip-off title

The Gilmer Bobcat captured another tournament championship to begin their season. GHS hosted the annual ETC/Piedmont Mountainside Tip-off Tournament, which wrapped up last week. Gilmer took on Fannin County Monday and sent the Rebels back to Blue Ridge with a sound 79-44 loss.
