The Clear Creek Bobcats hit the court for three Christmas tournament games outside of their league schedule.
The event was held at Christian Heritage School Dec. 16-17, and the Bobcats posted a 1-2 record. After defeating LaFayette 54-48, CCMS met the host Lions and lost, 41-23. The Cats ended the tournament against Gladden and were defeated by an identical score, 41-23.
The Cats jumped out early versus LaFayette. Clear Creek’s advantage increased until the fourth where the Bobcats held off the Ramblers at the end.
Mason West was there to score 14 for Clear Creek, while Douglas Callihan and Peyton Chancey added 12 and 11 points apiece.
CCMS scored nine points in the opening quarter against Christian Heritage for its best offensive output. The Lions gained the lead in the second and maintained it to the final buzzer.
Clear Creek had trouble getting shots to fall in the finale versus Gladden. Callihan, Chancey and Preston McVey were the only Bobcats to reach the scoring column.
The loss dropped the Cats’ record to 5-8 for the season.
