Clear Creek softball earned two more league wins.
The CCMS Lady Cats were at home for both games last week, and White County was up first Monday. The visiting Warriors found red-hot Cats waiting on them, and CCMS had another strong performance. The Cats scored at least three runs in each at-bat and came away with a 12-4 win.
Versus Union County two days later, Clear Creek jumped to a quick lead once again and buried the Panthers in a 9-run hole. While Union found some offense in its final two at-bats, it was not enough and the Cats won, 9-6.
CCMS answered White’s three-run third with five runs in its half of the inning. The Cats added three more runs in the second and led 12-3 after the third. WCMS scored a final run in the fourth, but it was not enough to keep the game going.
Baylee Bramlett knocked in three runs on two hits. Jaylin Duncan had a three-hit day, and McKenley Holt added two hits and drove in a run. Lily Teague, Kensie Farmer and Blair Whitaker all had one RBI.
CCMS pitching: Kaitlin Bidwell 1/3 IP, 3 ER, 3 BB.
Holt 2 2/3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 K, 4 BB. Reagan MacArthur 1 IP, 1 H.
It was a similar theme Wednesday against Union. CCMS wasted little time and led 3-0 after the first. Four more runs crossed home plate in the second, and the Cats opened their lead to 9-0 after the third.
UCMS responded with three runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but their comeback fell short.
Sydney Dillard was the only Cat with two hits, while Holt tallied three RBIs and Neeyah McDaniel knocked in a pair. Teague and Bramlett added one RBI apiece. Bramlett, Duncan, Farmer, Whitaker and Brinlee Johnson all had one hit for CCMS.
Bidwell tossed all five innings and struck out six, walked four and gave up five hits and three earned runs.
Clear Creek is 5-0 on the season.
