Col. Craig Smith

Our family lost its champion when Col. Craig Smith, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at the age of 77, after suffering from full cardiac arrest and respiratory failure. He was born Jan. 9, 1943, in New Haven, Conn.

William ‘Bill’ Miller

Mr. William (Bill) Miller, 88, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020. He was born July 1, 1932, in Springfield, Ill., to Sherel Miller and Helen Six Miller.

Mrs. Ada Mae Sanford

Mrs. Ada Mae Sanford, 86, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020. She was born in Gilmer County July 19, 1934, to the late Anis Watkins and Mary Sluder Watkins.  She was a homemaker for many years and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

James Louis Davidson

Mr. James Louis Davidson, 52, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020. He was born in Gilmer County July 25, 1968, to the late Dwight Davidson and Kathy Newman Davidson. He was a member of Cherry Log Baptist Church.

Donald Milton Davis Sr.

Mr. Donald Milton Davis Sr., 75, of Gainesville, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, flowing an extended illness. He was born Dec. 6, 1944, in Ellijay, to the late William Davis and Tamer Greenway Davis.

Elene M. Rivers

Elene M. Rivers, 82, of King George, Va., died Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was the widow of Eugene P. Rivers Sr., to whom she was married for over 53 years.  Born in Madera, Calif., to Joseph and Ellen Mashburn, she received her A.A. from Stephens College (Columbia, Mo.

William ‘Billy’ Parker

Mr. William “Billy” Parker, 27, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020. He was born Aug. 27, 1993, in Whitfield County. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School and worked as a carpenter.  He is preceded in death by father, LaBronn Parker; grandfather, Luke Teal; and uncle, Chris Parker.

Ronnie B. Crook

Mr. Ronnie B. Crook, 60, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, following injuries received in a trucking accident in Wyteville, Va. He was born Oct. 31, 1960, in Pickens County, to the late Raymond and Pauline Matthews Crook. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, served with the U.S.

Mrs. Alida Rodriguez

Mrs. Alida Rodriguez was born March 3, 1925. She died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020. She was the youngest of 10 siblings.  She is preceded in death by four siblings; and husband, Pastor D.A. Rodriguez in 2006.

Mrs. Barbara Jean Pospisil

Mrs. Barbara Jean Pospisil, 77, of the Coosawattee Community, formerly of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Long Island, N.Y., died Saturday, Oct 3, 2020, from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). She was of the Christian faith, but had no local affiliation.  She was born Oct.
