Mrs. Sharla Lanette McFarland, 49, of Ellijay, died at her home Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020. She was born July 16, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas, to William “Don” and Karen Lanette Goodwin Davenport.

Mrs. Sally Stiles, 80, of Andrews, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, in a Chattanooga, Tenn., hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, N.C. She was a homemaker and a member of McClelland Cove Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Emma Williams Hodge.

Mr. Grady Gayton, 83, of Jasper, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at his residence. He is survived by sons and daughters-in- law, Tony and Beverly Gayton, of Tate, Keith and Vivian Gayton, Jeremy and Mary Beth Priest, all of Ellijay, Jonathan Gayton, of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, T.J.

Angelo V. Spadaro Jr.

Mr. Angelo V. Spadaro Jr., 59, of Easley, S.C., died Monday, Dec. 30, 2019. He was born April 21, 1960, in Rock Hill, S.C., to the late Angelo V. Spadaro Sr. and Marianna Bridges Spadaro. He was a painting contractor. He is survived by wife, Annina Spadaro; children and spouses, Angelo V.

Mrs. Jeanette McArthur Royston

Mrs. Jeanette McArthur Royston, 82, of Austell, formerly of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice in Austell.  She was born July 2, 1937, in Ellijay to the late Everett D. and Gertrude (Miller) McArthur.

Ms. Marie Cochran Henson

Ms. Marie Cochran Henson, 86, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at her residence.  She was born Dec. 5, 1933, in Atlanta, to the late Marion and Marie (Montrose) Cochran.  She was a graduate of Sylvan Hill High School and Georgia State University, earning a degree in nursing.

Mrs. Susan Ann Stanley, 62, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020.  She was born Oct. 13, 1957, in Fannin County, to the late Clarence Ward and Annie Ross Ward.

Joel Lee Sweat Jr.

Mr. Joel Lee Sweat Jr., 82, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019. He is survived by wife, Louise Sweat, of Ellijay; sons, Joel Lee Sweat III, of Pasadena, Calif., Kerry Sweat, of Ellijay; brother, Larry Eugene Sweat, of Ellijay; sisters, Shirley Ann Craig, of Apopka, Fla.

Rodney Ray Evans

Mr. Rodney Ray Evans, 70, of Ellijay, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. He was born Oct. 12, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Raymond Nolan and Thelma Aileen Snyder Evans.  He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and retired as a retailer for Direct TV.
