Mr. Rodney Ray Evans, 70, of Ellijay, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.
He was born Oct. 12, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Raymond Nolan and Thelma Aileen Snyder Evans.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and retired as a retailer for Direct TV.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Roger Evans and Robin Montion.
He is survivved by wife, Adeline Ponders; children, Jacob Evans, Summer Hahlan, Tabitha Adams, all of Colorado, Fawn Evans, of Des Moines, Iowa, Ann Ponders, of Ellijay; brothers, Rick Evans, of Michigan, Randy Evans, of Ohio; sister, Rhonda Watts, of Lawrenceville; and several grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Arnold officiating.
Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army.
The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service hour at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
