Clear Creek Middle School wrestlers were in Blue Ridge last Tuesday to take on the Fannin County Rebels, and they returned home with a 53-33 league victory.     CCMS was on the road two days later for another league win over Lumpkin County, 70-12.

Gilmer High wrestlers were at North Murray High School last Saturday and returned home with their third tournament title of the season. Gilmer posted a 5-0 record and won every match by at least 32 points to improve to 17-1 on the season.

The Gilmer High Bobcats improved to 6-0 in nonregion basketball action. GHS was on its home court for games last week and sent both teams home with a loss. First up were the Southeast Whitfield Raiders on Friday.

(By the Gilmer Sports Hall of Fame) — The Gilmer Sports Hall of Fame inducted five new members at last Saturday’s basketball games. The hall of fame recognizes former athletes, as well as those who have been exceptional in support roles.
Above are TRAC’s 12U Fusion soccer players and coaches. They won their league and two tournaments during the fall season while posting a 16-0-1 record. TRAC Fusion wins league 12U title, finishes 16-0-1

Ellijay’s Three Rivers Athletic Club (TRAC) has a formidable team coming up the soccer ranks. TRAC’s 12-under Fusion wrapped up its fall season last month. The girls posted an undefeated 16-0-1 record, won Cherokee Impact’s 12U boys division and captured a pair of tournament titles.

The Gilmer High Lady Cats were on the court for a pair of nonregion basketball games. GHS hosted Southeast Whitfield last Friday and sunk the Raiders, 61-24. The Cats were at home the following day versus the Pickens Dragonettes, and Gilmer’s southern rival notched a 55-49 win.

Gilmer High swimmers returned to the pool for the Tiger Plunge. The meet was held in Adairsville last Saturday and attracted 14 teams. The GHS Bobcats tallied 81 points for 10th in the boys standings, while the Lady Cats placed 11th with 61 points.

Clear Creek Middle School basketball returned to the court last week after Thanksgiving break. The Bobcats were in Dahlonega Monday to take on Lumpkin County. The seventh graders were up first, and the Cats won 51-38, while CCMS eighth graders lost, 47-37.

Clear Creek wrestling hosted White County last Tuesday, and the Bobcats sent the Warriors back to Cleveland with a 60-18 loss. White forfeited to Chase Cantrell (79 pounds) while both Carter Ortis (102) and John Oliver (275) won by decision.

Gilmer High wrestlers earned another tournament title ahead of Thanksgiving. The Bobcats made the trip to Woodstock last Tuesday for the Etowah Duals. GHS took the mat for five matches and came out ahead each time, and the Bobcats improved their seasonal record to 12-1.
