Linda Ford Waters was born in Evansville, Ind., Sept. 12, 1953, and spent her youth in Christian County, Ky. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the science of home economics from the University of Kentucky, where she was also a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

Doris Emma Strickland

Doris Emma Strickland died ThursdayMarch 25, 2021, after a long, courageous fight with Alzheimer’s. She passed away at her family home in Ellijay surrounded by family. She was born in Ellijay, in a small humble house on Turniptown Road July 2, 1940.

Mr. Tracy Stephens, 55, of Ellijay, died Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was born March 7, 1966, in Gilmer County, to Ernest and Helen Pritchett Stephens.  He was a high school graduate, class of 1984, was a carpenter and was employed by Stover Building.

Calvin Richard Weaver

Mr. Calvin Richard Weaver, 66, of Ellijay, died  Tuesday, March 24, 2020.  He was born Oct. 21, 1953, to the late Harley Sanford and Minnie Jency Walker Weaver in Ellijay. He was of the Baptist faith and retired honorably after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Cory Luke Larmon, 27, of Dalton, died Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was born Aug. 12, 1993, in Whitfield County, to Wayne Larmon and Katie Rogers.  He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Argis and Frances Rogers; paternal grandmother, Rosie Larmon; and aunt, Cora Rogers.

Don was born in Hacoda, Ala., July 15, 1933, and was raised in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. He was one of 10 children born to James Mallard McKee and Edith Ellen McKee.

Mrs. Jossie Lee Fowler Farist

Mrs. Jossie Lee Fowler Farist, 80, of Ellijay, died Sunday March 7, 2021. She was born May 13, 1940, in Cherokee, to the late Lewis and Dessie Lee Washington Fowler.  She was employed by Superb Carpet as a carpet machine operator and was a member of Riverhill Baptist Church.
