Mr. Dale H. Dyer, 101, of Blue Ridge went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2021.   He was born in Clearwater, Kan., to the late William Hamlin “Ham” and Anna Dyer.   After completing four years at Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan.

Mrs. Katsuko Wishon

Mrs. Katsuko Wishon, 86, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. She was born Sept. 21, 1935, in Tokyo, Japan. She was a high school graduate and was a member of a professional ski team. She was also a member of the Gospel Temple Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bertie Carver Owenby

Mrs. Bertie Carver Owenby, 99, of Talking Rock died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. She was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Pickens County, to the late Alonzo and Pearl Duckett Carver. She was a housewife and a member of the Talona Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by husband of 74 years, the Rev. Carl E.

Jimmy Lee Sluder

Mr. Jimmy Lee Sluder, 78, of Blue Ridge, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021. He was cremated, and no services are planned at this time. Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Steve Robert Ayers

Mr. Steve Robert Ayers, 90, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at Higher Praise Church of God with the Rev. Ron Branham officiating. Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Paul Reed Wimpey Sr.

Mr. Paul Reed Wimpey Sr., 70, of Marietta, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, from the Wimpey Family Cemetery with the Rev. David Drake officiating. Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Jean Helton

Mrs. Bonnie Jean Helton, 81, was called to her heavenly home Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, in Ellijay. She was born March 26, 1940, to the late Carroll and Dorothy Douglas in Miami Springs, Fla. She  will be best remembered for her kind heart and being the rock of the family.

Mrs. Ann Reece

Mrs. Ann Reece, 77, of Talking Rock, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. She was born in Loachapoka, Ala., July 3, 1944, to the late Brooks Carlisle and Bonnie Stipp Carlisle. She was a teacher’s aid, and was retired from Canaanland Christian School.

Rev. Larry Richard Reece Sr.

The Rev. Larry Richard Reece Sr., 77, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He was born in Pickens County May 16, 1944, to the late Rev. Horace Reece and Agnes McJunkins Reece.

Rev. Henry Thomas ‘H.T.’ James

The Rev. Henry Thomas “H.T.” James, 95, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021. He was born Sept. 7, 1926, in Ellijay, to the late Henry Thomas and Florida Angeline (Ledford) James. He was a Baptist minister and a member of Flat Branch Baptist Church.
