Ms. Vernice Reece, 72, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021. She was born in Gilmer County Feb. 22, 1949, to the late Lee Reece and Mae Mealer Reece. She was a Gilmer High School graduate, class of 1967, and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Greg Brant Wells

Mr. Greg Brant Wells,  48, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at his residence. He was born Dec. 26, 1972, to Ray Frank and Shirley Ruth (Hill) Wells in Dalton. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, class of 1991. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with his family.

Winfield Scott ‘W.S.’ Gardner

Mr. Winfield Scott (W.S.) Gardner, 95, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, following a brief period of illness. Born Oct. 2, 1926, in the Churchill community of Macon, N.C., he was the son of James Herbert Gardner and Valeria Virginia Jones Gardner.

William C. Stewart

Mr. William C. Stewart, 50, of Blue Ridge, went home to our Lord Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. He was a beloved husband and a beloved father, who will remain in our hearts, as love, light and pride for the rest our living days.

Mr. Kenneth Clyde Kissinger, 86, of Chattanooga, Tenn., formerly of Ellijay, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at home, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born to the late Charles and Nellie (Jump) Kissinger in Queens, N.Y.

Mrs. Gwendolyn Hendrix Dean

Mrs. Gwen Hendrix Dean, 67, of Ellijay, loving wife and mama. She was born and raised on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, to the late Samuel Hendrix and Valley Owenby. She was a master florist for many years. She is preceded in death by sisters, Anne Hornsby, Janice Engle and Reva Kuykendall.

Mrs. Patsy McClure Plush

Mrs. Patsy McClure Plush, 74, of Ellijay, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2021. She was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Gilmer County to the late Ruth Ledford Vick. She was a member of Little Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by son, James McClure; and husband, Frank McClure Sr.

Donna Suzanne Weaver Aldea

Donna Suzanne Weaver Aldea died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at Seasons Hospice, in Cumming. She was born at home March 28, 1941, in the Cartecay area of Ellijay. She was the second of seven children born to Bernard Weaver and Brader Chastain.

Mrs. Dorothy ‘Dot’ Eunice Woodring Painter

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Eunice Woodring Painter, 99, of Dalton, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Monday, Nov. 1, 2021. She was born Feb. 25, 1922, to the late Lee Terrell and Pearl Mae (Key) Woodring in a log house in the New Hope Community in Ellijay.

Michael Joseph Dills

Mr. Michael Joseph Dills, 77, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021. He was born in Chicago, Ill., March 24, 1944, to the late Murray and Sandra Clay Dills. He was a U.S. veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He was a mechanic and was retired from Clay’s Automotive Service.
