Mr. Millard Kenneth Bailey, 71, of Ellijay, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2021. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Dink Lanning officiating. Interment was in Yukon Cemetery. Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wayman Allison

Mr. Wayman Allison, 82, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021. He was born Jan. 16 1939, in Fulton County to the late James and Thelma Lewis Allison. He was employed by the city of Atlanta as a fireman where he worked for many years and was a member of  Cartecay Baptist Church.

Charles William ‘Bill’ Shepard

Mr. Charles William “Bill” Shepard, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at Park Place Rehabilitation Center. He was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Gilmer County. He was a business owner and ever the salesman. He loved fishing, the novel of Louis L’Amour, and a good joke.

Mrs. Matilda Jane (Long) Ledford, 87, of Blue Ridge, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021. She was born June 8, 1934, in Dial, to the late Coleman and Senia (Farmer) Long. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Mrs. Anne Margaret Roberson Smith, 90, of Ellijay, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2021. She was born in Lindale, May 15, 1931, to the late Garnet L. Roberson and Mary Phillips Roberson. She was employed by the United States Department of Defense in the finance and accounting department.

Mrs. Regina Teague Goble

Mrs. Regina Teague Goble, 56, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021. She was born in Longmont, Colo., Dec. 25, 1964, to the late Robert Teague and Opal Carney. She was an author and had published many poems and a book entitled, The Teague Descendants: To Love, To Honor, and To Cherish.

Clyde Wilburn Ballew

Mr. Clyde Wilburn Ballew, 80, of Jasper, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Copperhill, Tenn., Aug. 30, 1941, to the late Willa Mae Curley Ballew. He was a member of Refuge Baptist Church in Jasper.

Ms. Cynthia Barrett Hensley, 66, of Jasper, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. She was born in Pickens County Dec. 31, 1954, to Ester Barrett and Rosa Crump Barrett. She was employed by North Georgia Limo and was a member of Talona Baptist Church.

Jesse Oliver Chambless Jr.

Mr. Jesse Oliver Chambless Jr., 87, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021. He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Damascus, to the late Jesse Oliver and Pauline (Phillips) Chambless Sr. He attended Nine Mile United Methodist Church and owned and operated Chambless Cine Equipment for 40 years.
