Mrs. Millie Janette Brittain Markham, 87, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022. She was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Shelby, N.C., to Zed Ernest and Clara Belle Hicks Brittain. She is preceded in death by husband, Richard Allen Markham; and brother, James Roger “Butch” Brittain.

Phyllis J. Huey

Mrs. Phyllis J. Huey,  79, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at Northside Hospital Cherokee. She was born Oct. 5, 1943, in Clay County, W.Va., to the late Robert Ed Adkins and Amanda Losh Adkins. She is preceded in death by husband, Leonard Huey.

Rosie Stanley Neal

Mrs. Rosie Stanley Neal, 97, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at her residence with loved ones by her side. She was born March 20, 1925, to the late Sanford Stanley and Nola Bearden Stanley. She was employed at GoldKist for many years and was a member of Pisgah Church of Christ.

Lillian ‘Bobby’ Lucille Conger Miller

Mrs. Lillian “Bobbie” Lucille Conger Miller, 91, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at Parkside Nursing Home of Ellijay. She was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Pensacola, Fla., to the late Rubin Benjamin Conger and Estelle Hipps Conger. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay.

George Hubert Edmondson

Mr. George Hubert Edmondson, 78, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at his residence. He was born Sept. 10, 1944, in Gilmer County to the late Arthur Edmondson and Georgia Carnes Edmondson. He proudly served our nation in the United States Army as a parachute rigger in Vietnam.

Anita Lea Sisson

Mrs. Anita Lea Sisson, 71, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Four Oaks, N.C. She loved to cook and bake cakes. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Timmy Marc Mullins

Mr. Timmy Marc Mullins, 58, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 9, 1964, in Jasper, to the late Marc Mullins and Evelyn Payne. He was a long-time employee at Pilgrim’s Pride. He is preceded in death by father, Marc Mullins.

Rebecca O’Brien Laprairie

Mrs. Rebecca O’Brien Laprairie, 51, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at her residence with loved ones by her side. She was born July 5, 1971, in Lenoir, N.C., to Glenn Beane and Carolyn Davis. Rebecca was a dedicated LPN and was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church.
