Dr. J. Harold Parker

Dr. J. Harold Parker, 93, passed away Oct. 30, 2022. He was born Jan. 18, 1929, to J.B. and Opal Parker on a small farm in Ellijay, the oldest of seven children for whom he led the way in pursuing higher education and military service.

Ms. Melinda B. Edwards, 67, of Ellijay, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. She was born April 7, 1955, in Atlanta to George Battles and Beatrice Strickland Battles. She was a homemaker who loved her family and dogs dearly and always had a warm smile. She is survived by husband, Richard L.

Howard Clifton Ralston

Mr. Howard Clifton Ralston, 82, of Dalton, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at his home, surrounded by loving family. He was born July 11, 1940, in Blue Ridge, to the late Howard Wayne Ralston and D. Elizabeth “Lizzie” Weaver Ralston.

Rose Teresa McHan

Ms. Rose Teresa McHan, 69, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. She was born Dec. 2, 1952, in Gilmer County, to the late Major Dupree and Lela Hicks Dupree. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by husband, Charlie Posey.

Christopher Warren Jones

Mr. Christopher Warren Jones, 61, of Ellijay, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1961, in Gilmer County, to the late Warren Jones and Anna Ruth Payne Jones. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School and was a small business owner, welder and fabricator.

Doris Jean Key, 69, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022. She was born Oct. 7, 1953, in Ellijay, to Gordon Edward “Ed” and Betty Sue (Clark) Key. She was a member of the East Ellijay Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by brother, Donald Key. She is survived by sisters, M.

Mary Angelene Mobley Kenney

Mrs. Mary Angelene Mobley Kenney, 85, of Ellijay, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, and was with her loving son Glenn and his wife Sandra when the Lord called her home. She was born March 12, 1937, in LaGrange, to the late John Marion Mobley and Mittie Irene (McJunkin) Mobley.

Mr. Larry Fraliex, 71, of Ellijay, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. He was born in Caldwell, Ky., to the late Raymond Fredrick and Wiline Meeks Fraliex. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.
