Construction of housing development progresses off Highway 282

Construction has progressed since the go-ahead was issued in January for the first phase of a 1,200-acre gated housing development off Highway 282 and Crossroads Church Road, confirmed the Gilmer County Planning and Zoning Office.

GHS prom moved to Huff-Mosley

The Gilmer High School prom will be held Friday on Pettit Field at Huff-Mosley Memorial Stadium. Original plans called for prom to be held at the Gilmer County Agricultural Education Center on Clear Creek Middle School’s campus, but that changed Monday morning.

Extension service resumes normal hours, some programs still limited

Wearing protective face masks is a requirement for both market vendors and customers. The Gilmer County UGA Extension Service has returned to a normal operating schedule after limited hours the last few months, but some of the office’s programming is still being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
