Ellijay council reviews options for pedestrian safety, roundabout updates
Pictured is the beginning of a line of white wooden crosses now displayed along South Main Street in recognition of Memorial Day. Each marker bears the name of a deceased Gilmer County veteran. Different branches of Ellijay American Legion Post 82 typically put up more than 1,000 of the crosses twice a year in observance of Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
