Mr. James “Eddie” Edwin Weaver, 74, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022. He was born on July 3, 1947 in Gilmer County to the late Conrad Weaver and Mae Thompson. He was a graduate of the Gilmer High School and was a used car dealer for many years.

Mrs. Doris Mancil McArthur, 75, of Tifton, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at her residence. She was born Dec. 27, 1946, in Fernandina, Fla. She was the daughter of the late Pearlie Mancil and Leona Lewis Goodbread and stepfather, Carl Anthony Goodbread.

Mrs. Gwendolyn ‘Gwen’ Emoline Messer

Mrs. Gwendolyn (Gwen) Emoline Messer, 81, of Sebastian Fla., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. She was born in Hemp, July 16, 1940, to the late Ted and Dicie Hughes. She was raised in Ellijay and moved to Florida in 1958, where she met her husband of 33 years, Franklin Messer.

Mr. Bobby Griggs, 79, of Ellijay, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Gilmer County April 30, 1942, to the late Glen Griggs and Annie Leola Carroll Griggs. He was retired from Mohawk Industries and was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church.
