Mr. James “Eddie” Edwin Weaver, 74, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022.

He was born on July 3, 1947 in Gilmer County to the late Conrad Weaver and Mae Thompson.

He was a graduate of the Gilmer High School and was a used car dealer for many years. He proudly served our nation in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by son, Seth Weaver; and brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Joan Weaver.

He is survived by wife, Edith Holt Deboard Weaver; son, Christopher (Taylor) Weaver, of Ellijay; daughter-in-law, Natasha Pankey; stepchildren, Adam (Amanda) Deboard, Melissa (Luke) Mooney; sister, Louise (Larry) Johnson. of Suwanee; grandchildren, Brady Weaver (Taylor Nicholson) and Samantha Weaver; stepgrandchildren, Morgan and Darren Deboard; special daughter, Jodi (Robby) Talley; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Nelson and the Rev. Larry Stover officiating.

Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Adam Deboard, Luke Mooney, Jamie Baxter, Michael Boyette, Jesse Nealey, Keith Cantrell, Robby Talley and John Mata.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Holt, Tim Weaver, James Henson, Roy Payne and Billy Dotson.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
