Mr. William “Bill” Francis Hayman, 89, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022.

He was born in Ft. Meade, Fla., May 7, 1932, to the late Wallace Raymond and Vena Smith Hayman Sr.

He was a member of the Mountain Life Baptist Church. He was owner of Hayman Safe Company and was an aircraft mechanic for Eastern Airlines. He served honorably in the United States Navy.

He was known for his voice as a singer in a gospel quartet.

He is preceded in death by brother, Wallace Hayman Jr.; and granddaughters, Jennifer Mobley and Amanda Fountain.

He  is survived by wife of 67 years, Carolyn Deloris Hayman, of Ellijay; daughter, Patricia and the Rev. Richard Fountain, of Ellijay; son, Gary and Linda Hayman, of Mount Dora, Fla.; grandchildren, Terry Mobley, Aaron (Sarah) Hayman, Michael (Tiffany) Hayman; great-grandchildren, Angelica Mobley, Christopher Mobley, Mackenzie Hayman, Delaney Hayman, Conan Hayman, Fiona Hayman and Nolan Hayman; and several nieces.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the Logan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Fountain, the Rev. Bob Walker, the Rev. Bob Shook and the North Georgia Honor Guard officiating.
