Mr. Morris Holden, 91, of Ellijay, died Thursday, April 7, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Gilmer County March 7, 1931, to the late Toy Holden and Candy Stover Holden. He was retired from the construction industry and was a member of River Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Linda Sue Buckner Davis

Mrs. Linda Sue Buckner Davis, 63, of Talking Rock, died Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her residence. She was born April 11, 1958, to the late Eugene Buckner and Sally Hightower Buckner. She was a manager at Dairy Queen in Ellijay and was of the Baptist faith.

Stanley Dean Hanlon

Mr. Stanley Dean Hanlon, 92, of Ellijay, died Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was born July 27, 1929, in Greencastle, Ind., to the late Glenn and Mabel Hanlon. He served honorably in the United States Army as a deep sea diver during the Korean War.

Mrs. Johnette J. Hood

Mrs. Johnette J. Hood, 86, of Ellijay, died Saturday, March 26, 2022. She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Boston, Mass., to the late Aram and Gertrud Johnian. She was a graduate of Winchester High School and Fisher Junior College. She was a loving mother, grandmother, auntie and sister.

Robert Henry Nicholson

Mr. Robert Henry Nicholson, 59, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was born Jan. 9, 1963, in Gilmer County, to the late John Henry Pinson and Roxie Sisson Pinson. He was employed by Dover Construction. He is preceded in death by brother, Bo Bo Pinson.

Mrs. Joyce Grant Young

Mrs. Joyce Grant Young died Wednesday, March 30, 2022. She was born Dec. 7, 1937. She was a third grade teacher for many years and retired from the Gilmer County School System. She touched the lives of many children.

Samuel ‘Paul’ Lindsey

Mr. Samuel “Paul” Lindsey, 82, of Talking Rock, died Friday, April 1, 2022, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1940, in Pickens County, to the late Sam and Maureen Henderson Lindsey. He was a graduate of Pickens High, class of 1958.

Jack Carder

Mr. Jack Carder, 79, of Ellijay, formerly of Cumming, died Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Suches, to the late Keff and Maggie Carder.  He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Ducktown and a visitor at Harvest Missionary Church in Ellijay.

Ike Reece

Ike Reece, 90, was the eldest son of 11 children born to Andrew Patton Reece — a World War I Army cook — and Mae McBryar Reece. Born May 29, 1931, he was a child of the Great Depression. Shortly after his father’s death on August 5, 1947, he enlisted in the U.S.

Mrs. Dorothy Jane Brothers

Mrs. Dorothy Jane Brothers, 85, of Ellijay, died Friday, March 25, 2022, at Parkside Nursing Home. She was born July 25, 1936, in Gadsden, Ala., to the late Melvin Tolbert and Alene Sprayberry Tolbert.
