Mrs. Dale Hicks Allen

Mrs. Dale Hicks Allen, 72, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022.

She was born May 14, 1949, in Dallas, to the late William and Hazel Hulsey Hicks. She worked as a teacher for the Gilmer County School System for over 20 years and was a member of Ellijay First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband, Emory Hancock Allen.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Josh Stover, of Ellijay, Allyson Allen and Casey Snipes, of Nashville, Tenn.; grandson, Cooper Allen Stover; special friends, Barry and Kathy, Lauren, Aaron and Abby Bramlett.

Memorial services were held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from Ellijay First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Stover officiating.

Music was by Joy Hice and Danny Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers were Shela Huff, Debbie Westmoreland, Linda Wright, Michelle Reece, Cindy Abercrombie, Marcia Roe, Stacey Hadden, Michelle Mumaw, Debi Fife, Sheri Bunch, Theresa Braswell, Paige Reece, Cindy West, Melinda Hadden and Sydney Mahan.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
