Two Gilmer County deputies and five EMS personnel were hospitalized following exposure to suspected Fentanyl at the site of a vehicle crash.

As Election Day commenced, 3,406 Gilmer County voters didn’t have to worry about setting time aside for the Tuesday, May 24, primary. That many had already voted early in person, according to the Gilmer Registrar’s Office.

The timing couldn’t have been better for recent paving of a cut-through road adopted last year by the City of Ellijay.
Shrine Club Drive was paved last week, just a few days before the Tuesday, May 24, general primary election in which the nearby Coosawattee Shrine Club was used as a polling place.
