Lucius Brockenborough ‘Brokey’ Gravely IV

Lucius Brockenborough “Brokey” Gravely IV passed away in his sleep at his home in Jacksonville, Fla., Tuesday, Nov. 12.  He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Marcia Booth Gravely; and daughters, Heather Anne Gravely, of Jacksonville and Brittany Belle Gravely, of Boston, Mass.

Mr. John Wesley Peeler, 62, of Murphy, N.C., died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at his residence. He was born in Germany to Elizabeth Peeler, of Columbus, and the late William Peeler. He retired from the U.S. Army; he served in Desert Storm.

Larry Ronald Gartrell

Mr. Larry Ronald Gartrell, 73, of Rockmart, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.   He was born April 9, 1946, to Edwin Daly and Mary Marcille Gartrell in Ellijay. He was saved and joined Whitestone Baptist Church in August 1958.

Miss Cheryl Ann Deaver, 61, of Sharpsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019. She was born Nov. 23, 1957, in Fulton County. She was a member of the Heatherwood Baptist Church in Newnan.

Mr. Billy A. Newton, 71, of Resaca, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2019. He was born Aug. 17, 1948, in Gilmer County, to the late Clarence and Susie Davenport Newton. He worked for Gold Kist and was of the Baptist faith. He was married to the late Jerry Sue Sisson Newton.

Mrs. Jean Leonard Waddey, 102, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, in Blue Ridge.  She was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Petersburg, Tenn., to the late Cyril Alvin Leonard and Lillian Mae Leonard Beard.  She was a resident of Shelbyville, Tenn.

Mr. Cody Allen Banks, 29, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019. He was born Sept. 11, 1990, in Dalton, to David and Loreen Banks. He worked as a carpenter for Modern Rustic Homes and was a loving father and husband. He is survived by wife, Crystal L.
