Thirty pets spay/neutered at FOGAS clinic

Two discount spay/neuter clinics sponsored by Friends of the Gilmer Animal Shelter (FOGAS) this year have resulted in 51 dogs and cats receiving those operations locally. The most recent clinic, held at the Gilmer Civic Center Friday, Oct.

Tuesday is Voting Day!

Tuesday, Nov. 5 is voting day in Gilmer County. The special election is to replace the unexpired term of County Commissioner Post 1, Dallas Miller.  The candidates are: Jason Biggs, Al Cash, Hubert Parker, Ed Stover Jr. and Jerry Tuso.

Some high school students haven’t planned their lives past graduation, while others have their whole lives planned out. Regardless of whether or not students have started planning for real life, all teenagers need to be taught more about the realities of being an adult.
