Moving forward

A young man whose life was forever changed by a medical emergency that resulted in amputation of both his legs is determined to push forward, while also being of service to others.  Christopher Adams, 20, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at age 16.

County chair proposes TSPLOST

In two town hall style meetings looking for solutions to road problems in Gilmer County, Commissioner Charlie Paris offered a possible solution of his own — a TSPLOST. Paris called the two meetings, one Wednesday at 6 p.m. and one Saturday at 10 a.m.

Parker elected to commission

Votes have been tallied in the Gilmer County Special Election, and the county has a new Post 1 commissioner. Hubert Parker was elected to post commissioner for the county with 63.7 percent of the vote. He tallied 1,360 votes.
