Ellijay’s first packaged liquor license fee will be in line with that of East Ellijay, city councilmembers decided when meeting at City Hall Monday, April 18.

County paving impacted by inflation

Inflation may affect the number of roads Gilmer County can pave this year. Gilmer County commissioners heard this from Public Works Director Jim Smith at the board’s work session on April 13. “We are experiencing dramatic increases in prices,” he said. Up to 30 percent increases on some materials.

Trail fest on sure footing for weekend debut

After pressing the reset button in 2020 and 2021, a new festival centered around Gilmer County’s abundant outdoor recreation options gets moving this weekend. The Georgia Mountain Trail Fest unfolds Saturday, April  23, and Sunday, April 24, at the Talona Ridge RV Resort, 723 Highland Parkway.

Friends of the Gilmer Library invite public to Saturday meeting

It’s been a while, but the Friends of The Gilmer County Library will hold their first annual meeting in two years Saturday, April 23. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in the downstairs Anita Summers Discovery Space at the library located at 268 Calvin Jackson Drive.

Amateur pool qualifier coming to East Ellijay

(By APA) — Three local American Poolplayers Association members will have the opportunity to qualify for the Junior Championships. These junior players will be joining others from all over the country to compete in this event in one of three Skill Level Tiers.
