As the term social distancing became common verbiage last week, many local businesses adjusted their operating procedures amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Several local grocery stores have implemented new business hours that allow the retailers to clean and restock shelves.

Assessors office temporarily closed to public

The Gilmer County Assessors Office announced last week that it will be closed to the public until further notice as a precaution to limit exposure of person-to-person contact during the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. The closure was effective beginning 5 p.m. Friday, March 20.
