Family members of U.S. Army PFC William Charles Burgess Jr., killed in Vietnam on June 4, 1969, gathered last year to see him honored as the Vietnam Veterans of America, Cumming Chapter 1030, presented a high school scholarship in his honor. The date of the presentation was exactly 50 years from the day Burgess was killed.
