Recycle store sets reopen date for this week

The Faith, Hope and Charity Recycle Store will reopen this week after being closed since mid-March. The first day of business is this Thursday, May 21, confirmed Cheryl Worley, FHC board chairman.  “Due to a volunteer shortage, for now, we will only be open for shoppers from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Gilmer Schools face cuts

The economic impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic will force state agencies to make significant budgetary cuts. Gov. Brian Kemp’s budget office and members of the Georgia General Assembly’s budgetary committees contacted state agencies May 1, which included all K-12 public schools.
