The Gilmer High School Class of 2024 valedictorian and star student is Allyson Muller. Caden Farist earned salutatorian. Commencement exercises are scheduled for Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at Huff-Mosley Memorial Stadium. Gates will be open at 5:30 p.m.
Taking part in last Friday’s dedication of the Rose Cemetery were, left to right, the Rev. Steve Fields, Jennifer Anderson, Jane Tischler, Susan Noles, Jean Tolbert (hidden), Erin Brandy, Danette Ozment, Judy Price, Lydia Bassetti, Barbara Murray, Rodney Anderson and Faye Cawthon. Many are members of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Capt. James Kell Chapter), and others are with the Gilmer County Genealogical Society.
Jennifer Grimmer, Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, and Rebecca Harrell, Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce 2024 board chair, took the plunge during the ribbon cutting for the Gilmer County pool May 1. The pool is slated to open Memorial Day weekend.
