The Gilmer County Board of Education has been recognized by the state for the second year in a row. The Georgia School Board Association (GSBA)recognized Gilmer the distinction of a “2022 Quality School Board.

East Ellijay unchanged in subdivision road access request

The East Ellijay City Council and Mayor Mack West remain unchanged in their decision to not give road access to a subdivision being planned off Progress Road. West and councilmembers previously reviewed plans for the Gilmer Village subdivision in July.

Light up Ellijay moving to Dec. 3

Ellijay’s town Christmas event will officially move to December this year. Previously held the day after Thanksgiving, Light Up Ellijay will now take place Saturday, Dec. 3.
