‘A local landmark’
A warming center, which will be manned by volunteers when temperatures drop below 30 degrees, is located at the left side entrance of the Gilmer County Civic Center, seen below.

Holiday events planned at Gilmer library
The procession carrying late Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives and Gilmer County native David Ralston departs from Logan Funeral Home Tuesday, Nov. 22, en route to the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta, where he was to lie in state. Ralston, who passed away Nov. 16, represented House District 7 (Gilmer, Fannin and part of Dawson County) for almost two decades and led the Georgia House as its speaker since 2010.
