Mrs. Elisabeth Lacedonia, 94, of Jasper, died Friday, June 3, 2022. She was born Sept. 17, 1927. She was born in 1927 to wealthy German parents (Georg Luerig and Helene Bartsch ) in the small town of Lieghitz in the Prussian province of Silesia. Her father owned and operated a cheese factory.

Mrs. Bernice Cleola Barnes, 78, of Ellijay, died Monday, May 23, 2022. She was born Jan. 30, 1944, to the late Cleve Akinson and Lillie Elanor (Corbin) Barnes in Ellijay. She was a member of Tails Creek Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School in 1961.

Mr. William Gary Cochran III, 40, of Ellijay, died Friday, May 20, 2022. He was born Oct. 21, 1981, in Atlanta, to William Gary Cochran Jr. and Julia Huff Lund. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. He was very active in coaching kids baseball and being an announcer.
