An Ellijay man is being charged with a hit and run in which a pedestrian was killed.
Tracy Lee Wilson, 47, of Ellijay, is charged with felony hit and run, according to a Woodstock Police Department press release.
A pedestrian, Sarahfina Okole, 18, was struck at 6:50 a.m. along Hwy. 92 at Sharon Way in Woodstock, according to reports.
She was taken to an area hospital where she later died.
Woodstock Police, along with the Cherokee County Multi-Agency Crash Investigation Unit, were able to identify Wilson as the driver. He was arrested at a local business in the afternoon.
Wilson was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center under an $8,500 bond.
More charges are pending in the ongoing investigation.
