Mr. Mitchell Howard Abercrombie, 52, of Ellijay died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021. He was born May 14, 1969, in Cobb County, to Leonard and Betty Evans Abercrombie. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.

As continuing supply chain disruptions cause people to rethink how they do things ranging from Christmas shopping to building a home, several Gilmer County departments are seeing longer wait times for various parts and materials.

Assessor board hears concerns about conservation covenant ending

The Gilmer County Board of Tax Assessors heard public comment, during its Oct. 21 regular meeting, from a local man on behalf of his elderly father concerning early termination of a conservation use covenant.

No-parking test run starts on River Street

Temporary blockage of eight parallel parking spaces on the north end of River Street has begun and will last for the next few months. Police Chief Ed Lacey said the barricades were put up at the direction of the Ellijay City Council last Wednesday.

LeFevre Quartet bringing uplifting gospel sounds to playhouse

A Georgia-based gospel quartet with joy to spare will soon bring their uplifting four-part harmonies to Ellijay.   The LeFevre Quartet will perform at the George Link Jr. Gilmer Arts Playhouse Friday, Nov. 12. Showtime is 7 p.m.
