Assessor board reallocates budget funds for office needs

The Gilmer County Board of Assessors approved letting some of their unused 2022 budget funds go toward purchasing office supplies and work clothing for assessors office employees when meeting Thursday, Nov. 17.

Before moving back to his hometown of Ellijay in the late 1980s, Roy Sanford had already engineered projects that involved NASA spacecraft and had another job in nuclear testing that required high security clearance.

Gilmer producers have good showing in wine and spirits challenge

Several Gilmer County wine and spirits producers received awards at a recent competition in which alcoholic beverages from across the state were entered. The Georgia Trustees Wine and Spirits Challenge awards top-judged wines, ciders, spirits and meads produced statewide.
