In the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, just days after her 70th birthday and one month following a stage 4 rare cancer diagnosis, Cynthia “Cindy” Anderson gained her wings unexpectedly with her daughter and son-in-law by her side in the comfort of her home.

Ms. Tracey Dianne Davenport, 55, of Dalton, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1967, in DeKalb County, to the late Edward Davenport and Mable Ledford Davenport. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School and a member of the River Hill Baptist Church.

Bessie Lee Silvers

Mrs. Bessie Lee Silvers, 92, of Talking Rock, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. She was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Bartow County, to the late Roy Junkins and Mamie Blankenship Junkins.

Alexis Marie Sluder

Ms. Alexis Marie Sluder, 16, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Aug.  27, 2022, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton. She was born Sept. 18, 2005, in Whitfield County, to Shawn Ricky Curtis and Melanie Hogan Sluder.

Bobby David Baker

Mr. Bobby David Baker, 50, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at his residence. He was born Nov. 23, 1971, in Pickens County, to the late Robert Jack Baker and Lillie Baker Fowler. He was a volunteer firefighter. He is preceded in death by brother, Robert Lee Baker Jr.

Jerry ‘Archie’ Reynolds Wilson

Mr. Jerry “Archie” Reynolds Wilson, 73, of Blue Ridge, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022. He was born Nov. 23, 1948, in Ellijay, to the late William Harvey and Rebecca Angeline (Dale) Wilson. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Morganton. He loved being in the outdoors.

Maria Secondina Matias Cobon

Mrs. Maria Secondina Matias Cobon, 39, of Ellijay, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at her residence. She was born June 13, 1983, in Columba Costacuca Puetzal Zaltenango, Guatemala, the daughter of Couillermo Matias and Luz Cobon. She loved her husband, children, her family and loved the Lord.

Joseph Lee Arch Sr.

Mr. Joseph Lee Arch Sr., 60, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, at his residence. He was born Nov. 24, 1961, in Welling, W.Va., to Joseph John Arch and Alfeda Farris. He proudly served our country in the United States Army.

Susan H. Kirkpatrick

Mrs. Susan H. Kirkpatrick, 81, of Ellijay, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Jasper Piedmont Hospital. She was born April 27, 1941, in Harrisburg, Ill., to James L. and Catherine Halcom. She was originally from southern Illinois where she met her husband of 62 years, Michael L.
